We are halfway through the renovations at Calslaan 5. In just 6 weeks, the first students can move back into their newly updated residential building. Significant progress has been made so far. The demolition work in the bathrooms and toilets has been completed, and these areas have been newly tiled. The installation of new sanitary facilities is in full swing on all floors. The building has also been thoroughly cleaned, with concrete repairs carried out and asbestos safely treated.
Additionally, a mechanical ventilation system has been installed in the student rooms and living-dining areas, and the carpenters are currently finishing the building with new duct soffits. The shared hallways will be equipped with an extra storage cabinet. Meanwhile, the painter is busy applying fresh coats of paint throughout the building.
To keep students involved in the ongoing renovations in their building, they are updated on the progress every week via WhatsApp.
